Responsible for the direction, planning, design, methodology, budget control and all other functions necessary to maintaining a program of strategic marketing research in support of all current and future Valpak Network
Essential Functions:
1. Plans, directs and executes ongoing marketing research to generate timely, high-quality information necessary to ensuring that all Valpak marketing programs remain competitive and up-to-date.
2. As appropriate, (a) plans, directs and executes research projects in-house; or (b) locates, qualifies, contracts, directs and monitors external execution of research.
3. Participates in and supports long range marketing strategic planning. Assesses current and future marketing research needs and opportunities consistent with marketing objectives. Then coordinates the marketing research program.
4. Utilizes appropriate and optimal research methods for the collection, preparation and analysis of relevant primary and/or secondary data. Such methods include data collection via interviews, surveys, data mining, and data analysis.
5. Responsible for effectively communicating the results and implications of marketing research projects – in verbal presentations, written reports, and in collateral materials – to internal Valpak audiences and to external audiences.
6. Acquires, prepares and analyzes competitor market data in order to provide Valpak with timely and high quality competitive intelligence.
7. Travels on a regular basis to gather data, work with external suppliers, and for other research purposes.
8. Serves as a point of contact/liaison with all other Valpak departments and external partners with respect to marketing research projects and issues.
